Apollo Global Management disclosed on Friday (Aug. 21) that it suffered a social engineering attack that led to a data breach, according to a breach notification sample submitted to the California Department of Justice.
The company determined through an investigation that there was unauthorized access to some of its cloud platforms between July 6 and July 10. Information that may have been affected includes names, dates of birth, contact information, home addresses and Social Security numbers.
Apollo said it has no evidence that the information has been publicly posted or used for identity theft or fraud. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the filing.
