Dow Jones futures fell modestly Sunday night, along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq futures, as crude oil prices rose amid the first U.S. attack on Iranian soil in a month.
The stock market's major indexes had risen modestly last week despite losses on Friday, when Treasury yields jumped following remarks by Fed chief Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole speech. The small-cap Russell 2000 index, however, fell over the week.
The overnight futures moves reflect early market reaction to the geopolitical development, with oil prices climbing on the news of the U.S. strike.
