Moody's Ratings has assigned investment-grade credit ratings to Ripple Labs' stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD), marking the announcement during the Swell 2026 conference held in New York on October 28, 2026.
On Wednesday, Moody's Ratings gave RLUSD an A2 long-term rating, described as an upper-medium grade indicating low credit risk, along with a P-1 short-term rating, the agency's highest prime grade reflecting a superior ability to repay obligations.
According to Moody's, the rating rests on several factors:
- Strong credit quality of the backing assets
- High liquidity of the reserves
- Robust legal segregation of Ripple USD's backing assets
