Robinhood began rolling out crypto perpetual futures to U.S. traders on Sept. 29, announcing eight supported assets and leverage of up to 10 times.

The contracts have no expiration dates, allowing customers to take leveraged long or short positions without periodically replacing expiring futures, unlike traditional futures products that require rolling over positions ahead of settlement dates.

Perpetual futures, commonly known as "perps," are derivative contracts widely used in crypto trading that track the price of an underlying asset without a fixed maturity date. Robinhood's move brings this product structure to its U.S. customer base for the first time as part of the rollout.

Further details on the specific eight assets supported and the mechanics of the offering were outlined as part of the launch.
